Almost all workers in the UK are entitled to be paid at least the National Minimum Wage – or the National Living Wage if you’re 25 or over

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) is the minimum pay per hour most workers in the UK are entitled to by law. See more here.
The rate varies depending on your age and whether you’re an apprentice. From April the minimum rates will rise.
- The National living wage for workers aged 25 and over will rise to £8.21 per hour
Wage rates also increase for:
– Workers aged;
- 21 – 24 years to £7.70 per hour
- 18 – 20 years to £6.15 per hour
- 16 – 18 years to £4.35 per hour
– Apprentice rate – £3.90 to per hour
It doesn’t matter how small an employer is, they still must pay the correct minimum wage.
